On December 19, 2022, the IPS finalist, Mariana Sofia Casadinho Bárbaro, successfully completed her internship entitled "Sedimentological characterization of the sandy beaches of the island of São Miguel, Azores" at NNIO, contributing to the project "STORM - Pilot project to implement a beach monitoring system on the island of São Miguel" funded by the Mar2020 program and managed by Gaspar Frutuoso Foundation.
