Students from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria visit the research vessel Mário Ruivo

On May 8, 2023, 43 students of the Marine Biology and Biotechnology course of the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, accompanied by Professor Paulo Maranhão, visited the research vessel (RV) Mário Ruivo.

The team from the Research Vessels and Observatories Group (NNIO) of IPMA, I.P., received and accompanied the students, and had the support of the ship’s crew. The students had the opportunity to visit the vessel and learn about its main functions as an observation platform of the Portuguese sea and as a fundamental tool in support of the studies and monitoring programs maintained by IPMA, I.P..

The visit of the students from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria was supported by Flying Sharks. The visit was organized by IPMA, I.P., with the support of the Port of Lisbon.
