Atlantic Observatory – 3^rd Steering Committee Meeting

The 3^rd Steering Committee Meeting of the Atlantic Observatory – Data and Monitoring Infrastructure project was held on October 20^th and 21^st, 2022, at Madeira Tecnopolo, Funchal.

The meeting, organized by partner ARDITI, was attended by IPMA’s Research Vessels and Ocean Observatories Group, project promoter and coordinator, and national partner FRCT, as well as by the partners from Norway and Iceland: IMR, NTNU and MFRI. It also counted with the participation of DGPM, Operator of the Blue Growth Program of the EEA Grants Portugal, funder of the project.

This was the first face-to-face meeting of the project and included working sessions to plan for the Atlantic Summer School, the launch and operation of the equipment acquired under the project, as well as visits to the facilities of ARDITI and the Operational Centre of the Madeira Ocean Observatory.
