The OceanTech project was presented at the conference “EMSO – preparing for UN Decade of Ocean Science”, in Athens. OceanTech was presented as a strategic mobilising programme of Research and Development, whose fundamental objective is to generate new technical and scientific knowledge that will allow the development, construction and offer of new products, processes and services for the deep ocean, to be made available in the global market. The research vessel (RV) Mar Portugal will be the infrastructure supporting the operation of the project.
The OceanTech project was presented by Mafalda Carapuço, coordinator of IPMA Research Vessels Group and Ocean Observatories.
The event was organised by the consortium “EMSO-ERIC – European Multidisciplinary Seafloor and water-column Observatory Research Infrastructure Consortium”.
